The EduServe International Board of Directors
EduServe International is built upon the belief that organizations achieve extraordinary results when people are connected toward a common goal. Our management philosophy and practical strategies are reflected by our recent merger with EduTech International, a company founded in 1985 by Linda Fleit. Our Board of Directors includes the founders of both Eduserve and EduTech, representing a full complement of technical depth and broad management expertise. Fundamental to any client engagement is EduServe International’s commitment to help individuals and organizations meet their highest goals and expectations. As our strongest corporate value, we strive to connect client resources, to focus energies toward accomplishing goals, and to make a difference in people’s lives.
Barbara Vrana, Ph.D., President, serves as president and CEO of Eduserve International. She is currently acting CIO of Tulsa Community College, and has served as CIO at East Central University and Oklahoma City Community College. An ACE Fellow, Barbara draws from extensive experience as an educator and administrator in higher education. She and John Slack founded EduServe in 2004.
John Slack, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, is a co-founder of EduServe. John had a distinguished career as an administrator in higher education in the Midwest before entering the consulting field. As COO, John oversees the business office of the company in the Chicago area, and also consults with clients.
Linda Fleit, Vice President, has been in the field of higher education computing since 1970, and is well-known as the founder and president of Edutech International. She has held positions at Tufts University, Boston College, the Harvard Business School, and the University of Hartford prior to founding Edutech International. Linda has written extensively for publications such as CIO Magazine, the Chronicle of Higher Education, the Bulletin of the American Association of Higher Education, and CAUSE/EFFECT magazine. Linda is currently taking a sabbatical assignment in Namibia to help schools there with technology and Internet connections.
Thomas A. Warger, Ph.D.,Vice President, has held a variety of leadership roles in IT management in higher education in his career of more than 20 years. Since 2000 he served as interim CIO at five different colleges, with two of those posts including library interim directorship. Earlier in his career, Tom was CIO at Bryn Mawr College (Pennsylvania) for 9 years and IT projects coordinator at Five Colleges, Inc. (Massachusetts) for 5 years. He has also consulted at numerous colleges and universities and was the lead author of the Edutech Report newsletter for 8 years.
